02/11/2018 Today, Solartech is introducing Solartech Station Aly1, a patent pending, solar powered wireless station. This all-in-one vertical solar station is implementing innovative technologies and techniques.

According to Alex Patrut, “We took a completely new and innovative approach, from the ground up. We had a vision to design the most affordable, efficient and performant solar wireless station on the planet. Every technology we selected was carefully researched and tested. We custom designed and built so we can create, what I call, system harmony engineering.”

The latest innovation in thin film solar cells, helps Solartech to design a unit that can be installed vertically, and still perform in shaded or low light conditions. The company also implemented a new battery chemistry that has a very high cycle life, 20,000 cycles, with excellent endurance and safety. Mr. Patrut explained “Actually I had a lot of fun testing and experimenting with these new batteries. We crushed them, punched them, stabbed them, burned and froze them, but towards the end it got boring, nothing dangerously exciting happened, they are boringly safe”. Due to this high safety, mobile medical devices also started implementing the new cell chemistry. One underlying reason for this technology’s characteristics is that the chemistry uses nanocrystals on the anode instead of carbon, which provides a much more effective surface area.

Another innovation Solartech implemented was in radio system design. The company is working to implement certified Wi-Fi 10 Gbps, but they are also augmenting the network with 60 GHz full duplex Multi-Gigabit links. “We looked at 60 GHz radio spectrum and it shows amazing potential for bandwidth capacity. 60 GHz is not immune to oxygen particles and does terribly trying to penetrate any surface. Because of that, even if is license free and open to everybody, the 60 GHz spectrum is not crowded at all and we can use the entire bandwidth. It’s perfect for P2P and P2MP direct sight links between our meshed solar stations.”

During the next couple of months, the company will deploy pilot units and start raising capital for production and operations.
